GG's Teaching Philosophy
As a teacher of acting and directing, I encourage students to meld script analysis, research and creative prep with being 'in the moment,' truthful, and intuitive. I also highly value attention to physicality, movement, and Viewpoints, as stage work involves the whole body in space! ~ Teaching Resume ~
Amongst my influences are Professors Manuel Duque and Mark Olsen, with whom I studied at the Penn State University School of Theatre. Manuel taught directly from his experience as a pupil of legendary acting teacher Sandy Meisner. He embraced the act of “doing” in his work; as well as the empowering mantra, "YOU will do for the role." Mark is a movement and ritual theatre specialist whose approach to performance as an act of personal creation has significantly informed my own teaching.
