  • Taught intensive courses in musical theatre performance for adults, focused on text/music analysis, character development, and acting techniques.

  • Led residency workshop at Half Moon Bay High School on performing Shakespeare’s text, concentrating on performing scenes from The Taming of the Shrew with 120 students.

  • Taught acting technique and movement, with an emphasis on the Viewpoints and on creating collaborative work, at this international program for exceptional student actors.  Led workshops on theatre history, stage combat, and 20th century playwrights.

  •  Taught acting technique, movement, mask, voice and speech with an emphasis on Shakespearean performance at this international program for exceptional young student actors.  Conceived and directed a final site-specific performance at Trinity Hall, Cambridge entitled Strange Desire.

  • Guest Panelist: “Generating New Work.”  Spoke on the challenges of bringing new material to the stage, with an emphasis on avant-garde productions. 

PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY – University Park, PA

Theatre 100: Introduction to Theatre (1996 - 1999)

  • Teaching Assistant:  Directed scenes and plays from a wide variety of periods and styles of world drama for a 400 seat proscenium thrust auditorium.  Managed and cast a company of actors for three seasons.  Conducted class discussions. Organized presentations.
  • Lecturer:  "Anton Chekhov and the Moscow Art Theatre."  Presented the history, themes, and significance of Anton Chekhov's life, writing, and theatrical activities.
  •  Lecturer:  "The Director's Concept."  Presented a concept for William Shakespeare's Macbeth, and demonstrated how the process is realized from idea to execution. 
  • Lecturer:  "The Directing Process."  Discussed and demonstrated text analysis, rehearsal methods and the actor/director relationship.
Theatre 102: Acting Fundamentals (1998)
  • Workshop: " Chekhovian Acting." Discussed approaches to character development and rehearsal methods in Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters.

Theatre 101:  Theatre Seminar (1997) 

  • Lecturer: "Dramaturgy for A Servant of Two Masters."  Presented a dramaturgical approach to Carlo Goldoni's commedia classic.
